AEGAN - குப்பை தொட்டில போடு
Compared to Ajith’s Ultimate Korangu like antics in Aegan, Shahrukh Khan is a Marlon Brando.
And compared to Aegan’s mis-director Raju Sundaram, Farah Khan is Kazan + Hitchcock + Spielberg + Coppola + Scorsese.
The principal villains of Aegan are a hopelessly disjointed story, pathetic performances by Ajith, Nayantara etc all compounded by inept direction by Raju Sundaram, who is also the writer of this piece of junk.
The Aegan story hews broadly to the Main Hoon Na theme albeit with some differences.
In Aegan, a young police officer (Ajith Kumar) goes undercover as a college student to nab an approver Ram Prasad, who’s on the run after escaping an attack on the police convoy while he was en route to the court to testify against notorious criminal Chinappa (Suman). You see, the thinking is that Ram Prasad will come to the college to meet his daughter Pooja (Piaa Bajpai) and can be nabbed there. Elementary, my dear Watson.
Like Shahrukh Khan in Main Hoon Na, Ajith too falls for his college teacher (the horrendously bad Kerala actress Nayantara in this instance).
Unlike Main Hoon Na, there are so many disjointed elements in the Aegan story that together impart a sophomoric stain to the whole movie.
Take a look at some of the egregiously disjointed nonsense in Aegan:
* Out of the blue, Pooja’s boyfriend Naren (Navdeep) is suddenly shown helping Pooja’s father to escape when he is chased by Ajith.
* Unlike in Main Hoon Na, the family tension that led to Ajith’s step-mother (Suhasini) and step-brother leaving home is abruptly introduced at the end, almost as an after thought.
* In the beginning, Ajith is shown to be friends with four kids Tinku, Rinku, Karan and Varun but the kids vanish after that. Were they kidnapped?
* The final scene shows Ajith’s family happily reunited, again without any effort to explain things.
* But surely the most bizarre scene was when the approver Ram Prasad blithely walks into the the college to be handcuffed by Ajith and taken away in a police jeep.
Besides the many disjointed elements, the Aegan story has other nonsensical features like Ajith taking the approver Ram Prasad with him to Chinappa’s den and single-handedly vanquishing a whole posse of criminal underlings.

Vijay, who is all ready to commence his next titled Pokiri, is celebrating his birthday today. The actor through his fans association organized several programmes including distribution of free notebooks and school uniforms for poor students throughout the State. The actor took part in various programmes organized in few orphanages and old-age homes in Chennai to celebrate his birthday.
In a statement, Vijay, thanking his fans for giving him support all through his career, said, ‘All my fans should strive to educate poor in the State and help all round development of the society. Educating the poor should be our watchword.’
Urging his fans to inculcate the urge to serve the society, Vijay, said, ‘Pleasure one derives helping others in need is great’.
Vijay is undoubtedly among the top as a young actor. He is a box office delight and is now being tipped to reach the very top like Rajini did.
We wish all the success on his birthday today. Greetings galore for Vijay.
And he celebrated it in a fitting manner. He spents a day with the inmates of a children’s home. The childran were happy and so was Vijay.
Vijay’s birthday today turned out to be a memorable occasion for him as the top directors and fellow artistes turned up in large numbers to wish him.
Happy B’day Vijay!

Our Ilayathalapathy Vijay, celebrates his 32 nd birthday today (June 22). This year Vijay is keen that he celebrates his birthday on a low key as he does not like ostentious celebrations.
On Wednesday, Vijay the educationist distributed notebooks, text books and educational aids worth Rs 5.5 Lakhs to the poor students at his JS Hall. Said Vijay: “Frankly I like to spread knowledge by providing financial help towards educating the weaker section of people, who cannot afford it”.
Today he plans to visit a few orphanages in Chennai city like Little Flower convent, Spastic Society, Mercy Home, Anbu Karangal etc. Adds Vijay: “My fans should also celebrate my birthday by doing some good work for the poor and needy instead of erecting my cut-outs and printing posters”
Vijay is absolutely noble in his thoughts and activities. It is indeed a great move by the superstar to spread the importance of education, which will make people better human beings and hence forth make a difference to our society.
We at Sify.com wish him “A very Happy birthday”
Inimitable birthday celebration
It is Vijay’s habit to celebrate his birthday every year with orphans and needy ones. Yesterday, Vijay through his fans association organized several programmes including distribution of free notebooks and school uniforms for poor students throughout the State.
The actor took part in various programmes organized in a few orphanages and old-age homes in Chennai to celebrate his birthday. Today, Saligramam in Chennai was brimming with Vijay fans. They celebrated Vijay’s birthday in a meaningful way.
Many cine personalities and V.I.P.s wished actor Vijay on his birthday. Galatta team wishes him a favourable and fortunate forthcoming year!
Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay’s birthday
Vijay is affectionately known as Ilaya Thalapathy among his fans, which literally means “Young General” and is credited onscreen as such. He has starred and danced his way into people’s hearts through several movies over the years. He is also the brand ambassador for various products.
He made his debut as hero at the age of 18 in the film Naalaya Theerpu in 1992. While he was filming Minsara Kanna in 1999, he married Sangeetha. His forthcoming venture is Pokiri with Asin in the lead. Galatta.com wishes Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay abundant joy and a successful year ahead! Happy Birthday Vijay!!!
Loyola Survey – Vijay leads the current generation
“Superstar’u yaarunu ketta chinna kozhandayum sollum”
As far as Tamil Cinema is concerned, there is one and only Superstar and that is, RAJINIKANTH! But here we are going to talk about the actors who are staking their claim to the throne of the “prince in heir” to that Superstar throne in Tamil Cinema which they will occupy after Rajini.
According to a recently held survey by Loyola College Students across TAMIL NADU, we will able to decipher public opinion on who they think is that “prince” who is next in line for the Superstar post. Since this survey was conducted to see who their favorite hero was, Rajini Sir still occupies the hearts of the people and is the Number one in this survey held across Tamil Nadu. But for this article, the rankings of the current generation of actors is what is going to be important for us.
Here are the percentages accorded to each actor (starting from ascending and goes down to descending)
Rajinikanth – 15.6%
VIJAY – 14.2%
Vijaykanth – 12.6%
ajith – 11.1%
Kamalhaasan – 8.3%
So according to the survey held across Tamil Nadu, it becomes quite clear that Ilayathalapathy Vijay is expected to be the “Next Superstar” after Superstar Rajinikanth. The release of Pokkiri is expected to further confirm this fact among the movie goers that Vijay indeed is going to rule the hearts of our fans all over Tamil Nadu!

Any time I see these videos I cannot help stop laughing. This guy thinks that the whole world revolves around him. He is known for his unique style of acting, dancing and dialogue delivery but for me his movies are a complete package of senseless comedy. He is none other than T Rajender, the actor cum director cum screen play writer cum producer cum cinematographer cum choreographer cum play back singer. When ever I see his movies or his interviews I always use to think – doesn’t this guy have any common sense?
T Rajender does a fight scene. May be Jackie Chan should learn a thing or two from this guy.
If T Rajendar does some seriousl scenes it will surely turn out to be another காமெடி

Vettaikaran getting ready for release
Vijay’s upcoming movie Vettaikaran is getting ready for release. ‘Vettaikaran’ which has happened to be the 49th movie of Ilayathalapathy Vijay is produced by the legendary banner AVM Productions. Directed by Babu Sivan, the movie is progressing fast. Vijay will pair with Anushka who rose to fame with her latest release ‘Arundhathi’. She plays the role of a medical college student who is in love with Vijay.
Right now Ultimate Star Ajith is also busy with his 49th movie ‘Asal’ and Vijay is as well busy with his movie ‘ Vettaikaran’.
It would be a sure race between these two to see who finishes first their 49th movie. This summer is going to be a visual treat for both Ajith and Vijay fans. The music for the movie is composed by Vijay Anthony and we can expect the songs to be a super hit.
‘Vettaikkaran’ | Vijay vs. ‘Asal’ Ajith?
And the one who might miss this race will be our ‘Vettaikkaran’. With just seventeen days more for Diwali, the film has a lot to be done said the sources. A few talkie portions and a song, for which the crew plans to go to Australia, are remaining to be shot. With so much of field works and post productions works remaining, we wonder if it is possible for ‘Vettaikkaran’ to hit the floor on the festive day.
On the other hand, looks like Vijay wants the film to be perfect in everything and it’s not important to be released in a hurry. Sources further added that Sun Pictures have also settled the issues in favour of the actor. All right, this more or less clears the air and the film’s release for Diwali is doubtful…
So if not for Diwali when is the release uh? What do you think people? Will anyone release such a puffed up project on a normal day? So the next possible festive season is Pongal.
Our question now is ‘Will ‘Vettaikkaran’ play single handed with ‘Asal’- the biggie who is already waiting for Pongal release?’
So the bottom line is that, ‘Aadhavan’ is free to do a One Man Show this Diwali, while we might see the Clash of the Titans this Pongal…

Sameera Reddy

Sameera Reddy loves to work with Vijay
By Moviebuzz
Wednesday, 20 February , 2008, 09:49
Sameera Reddy, the dusky “Sexy Sam” of Musafir was in Chennai shooting for Gautham Vasudeva Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram with Surya. In Bollywood, she is known as a good dancer, and she simply rocks in the promos of her forthcoming Abbas Mastaan multistarer Race.
Sameera who is a Telugu by birth has lived all her life in Mumbai. She is now keen to do more Tamil films, and has appointed a top artist manager in Chennai to look after her dates. Sameera has danced beautifully in Telugu movies with Chiranjeevi and NTR, and is now looking forward to dance with our Ilayathalapathy!
At a time when Kollywood is facing acute shortage of glamour girls, Sameera has made the right decision to move into Tamil films. She is also speaking the right language when she remarked: “It is a great learning experience to work with Surya and Gautham. I would love to work with Vijay, who is a great dancer and I also like Vikram an intense actor.”
Triple action
Courtesy: The Hindu
Kollywood seems to have been gripped by the triple action mania. The latest to join the list after Ajith, Vadivelu and Vivek is Vijay, who will don three different roles in a movie to be directed by Gautam Menon.
Though Gautam is busy with Varanam Aayiram and a film yet to be titled in which Trisha plays the lead, he is also preparing himself for the mega movie, for which he would join hands with Vijay for the first time.
The movie will be an action thriller and Vijay will play a police officer once again after Pokkiri.

இளயதளபதி விஜய்
Career
Vijay's real break came with Vikraman's Poove Unakkaaga. The movie rewrote box-office records and Vijay, who departed from his typical roles to play a soft-spoken, lovelorn youngster, found his ticket to stardom. He perfected the role in movies like Love Today and Nilaave Vaa and gradually found increased acceptance among the fairer sex too. The peak that I mentioned before in his career was undoubtedly Fazil's Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai. The movie was a blockbuster and the latest in a string of hits that placed Vijay in the hallowed company of Rajnikanth and Kamalahassan as far as the distributors were concerned. At that point, he could do no wrong as even Priyamudan, where he played a negative character of a youth obsessed with a woman, became a hit.
Vijay's downfall started with 1999's Endrendrum Kaadhal. His movies started falling like nine pins and he must have seen the writing on the wall with the failure of Minsaara Kannaa, which was helmed by hit director K.S.Ravikumar. His father hastened his downfall with the terrible Nenjinile. The last nail in the coffin, so to speak, was Fassil's Kannukkul Nilavu. The failure of this movie, which brought together the same team that was behind Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai, has shaken Vijay's confidence. But his personal life has always been on an even keel and he was recently married to Sangeetha after an arranged alliance. Memories are notoriously short in Kodambakkam where an actor or actress is only as good as their last hit. With Kushi too being a disappointment at the box-office, Vijay is desperately looking for a hit for some time now to get back into the race and make things interesting for the viewers. He has several releases this year like Friends, remake of a Malayalam superhit and Priyamaanavale, reteaming him with Simran. Lets hope these push him back into the race.
